Right Angles

Right angles are all around us. We found right
angles in our classroom and took pictures of them.

Shape Riddles

We are studying geometry. We are looking at the attributes of solid shapes (3D) and plane shapes (2D). Read our riddles and then share your guess by leaving a comment.

Shape Riddles

I am a solid shape. I have six faces and twelve edges. I have eight vertices. I am an equal shape. I am straight.
-Mayra and Zoraide

Shape Riddles

I have one face. I have one little vertex. I have no edges. I am curved.
-Erica and Carlos

Shape Riddles

I am a solid shape. I have eight edges. I have five vertices. I have five faces.
-America and Merli

Shape Riddles

I have zero sides. I have zero angles. I am like a number. I am like a clock, too. Can you guess what I am?
-Alexandra and Kayleen

Shape Riddles

I have no faces. I have no edges. I have no vertices. I am a solid shape. What am I?
-Arion and Xitha

Shape Riddles

I have four sides and I have two sides that are equal. I have two sides that are parallel. I don't have right angles.
-Yulissa and Pili

Shape Riddles

I am a solid shape. I have two faces. I don't have any vertices. I can roll.
-Larry and Adrian

Shape Riddles

I am a plane shape. I have four sides. My opposite sides are equal. I have four right angles.
-Alexis and Diego

Shape Riddles

I have three sides. I have three angles. I am a plane shape. What am I?
-Perla and Kevin

Shape Riddles

I have four equal sides. I do not have right angles. I am a plane shape.

Monster Mama

Before Halloween, we read a funny book called My Monster Mama Loves Me So. Using a lesson plan written by Marilyn Burns, we looked at the pictures of the monster boy and monster mama and counted their body parts. Monster mama has 3 eyes and monster boy has 3 eyes. That's a doubles fact in addition: 3 eyes + 3 eyes = 6 eyes altogether.
We drew our own monsters. On this slide show, called a VoiceThread, you can see our pictures and hear us list the monster body parts in our pictures. You can comment on our VoiceThread or on our blog and write doubles facts from our pictures.
We looking forward to hearing from you.
